A planning proposal was submitted to Argyll and Bute council in June 2011 for an 800 kw turbine with a tower height of 60 m, a rotor diameter of 48 m and a blade tip height of 84 m.
Genesis Energy engaged independent local experts to assess the impact of the wind turbine; a bird survey, archaeological, ecological, visual impact, shadow flicker, noise and traffic generation studies have all been completed, and photomontages have been prepared showing how the turbine would appear in the landscape.
Planning documents associated with the Whitehouse Turbine proposal can be found below. Most Documents are in PDF format, which should open automatically on most computers. If not Adobe Acrobat can be downloaded free here

Zone of visual influence This shows the maximum area that could see the turbine. This model does not take into account vegetation such as woodland and as such represents the 'worst case' representation.
The wire frame visualisations are designed to give the worst case scenario with no vegetation cover.
